Farmers in Formentera will be able to apply for CAP aid until June 30

Those interested in processing aid from the Common Agrarian Policy (PAC) campaign in Formentera will have until next June 30. This is the second PAC campaign of the new period, 2023-2027, which recognizes the special characteristics of agricultural and livestock production in the Balearic Islands and compensates for the extra costs of insularity that the primary sector bears.

The aids, which must be processed in a single application, are: basic income support for sustainability (previously known as basic payment); the supplementary payment for young people; the redistributive payment (small and medium farms); aid associated with certain agricultural and livestock productions; dried fruit and carob; aid to the production of proteins of vegetable origin; grain aid for the use of fodder, perennial and oleaginous; in the low-yielding olive grove; aid to eco-schemes; to good voluntary environmental practices; to the promotion of organic agriculture; the compensatory payment of mountain areas; aid for the promotion of the breeding of native breeds and the promotion of the use of regenerated water in agriculture, among others.

From the Primary Sector area they have recalled that the requirements to apply for PAC aid is to be an active farmer, which implies being affiliated to the Agricultural Social Security on your own account or that at least 25% of the income come from agricultural activity, including in agricultural income the amounts received as aid.

Farmers who in the previous CAP campaign received less than 5.000 euros in aid will not have to demonstrate their status as active farmers. They must also have the reinforced conditionality, which are 10 good agricultural and environmental conditions and 11 legal management requirements.

The processing of all PAC aid in Formentera can be done every Wednesday by prior appointment at the headquarters of the Primary Sector Ministry, located in the Antoni Tur 'Gabrielet' Center in Sant Francesc.
