Award-winning singer Júlia Colom will be the artist in charge of the Sant Jordi concert in Formentera

The Council of Formentera, through the area of Culture, informs that the singer Júlia Colom will present her debut album, Miramar, in the Sala de Cultura (Cinema) of Formentera on Saturday 20 April at 20.30 pm for the concert of Sant Jordi

Júlia Colom discovered her love for the voice and traditional music thanks to "El Cant de la Sibil·la", an ancestral song of Mallorcan origin that her grandfather taught her when she was only seven years old. The influence of Mallorcan "tunes" in his music is unquestionable and is part of his DNA. This is a fact inseparable from her personality as a composer, as we can appreciate in Miramar, a debut album made up of pieces of her own creation and others of popular origin, thus becoming a celebration of oral transmission and of the multiple lives that songs can live.

Júlia Colom's project is a different and authentic project born from showing us her inner world in an original way. We can talk about a quality and unique proposal in the independent scene that shows roots full of culture, sincere and transparent. In the presentation of Miramar, apart from listening to tunes learned from oral transmission from all over Mallorca, we will find own songs that reaffirm the solidity in which Júlia has started her recording career.

In this concert you will find the balance of the singer's present made in songs: tradition and modernity. It should also be noted that in the 2023th edition of the Balearic Music Enderrock Awards, held in October XNUMX, Júlia Colom was the big winner by taking home three awards, the best new artist, the best album song by popular vote, and the best album of the year for his album Miramar, which he will present in Formentera.

This concert is organized by the Institute of Balearic Studies and the Insular Council of Formentera.
